Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about protecting, sealing, and fully restoring your hardscape structures along the South Carolina shoreline.

Most standard residential projects (driveways or patios) take 1 to 2 consecutive days, depending entirely on local weather conditions. Day 1 consists of deep molecular cleaning, stripping failed old sealers, and treating stains. Day 2 involves sweeping in fresh joint sand and applying premium Trident joint-stabilizing sealants once the surface is thoroughly dry. This hardens the sand and seals the stone simultaneously.
Efflorescence is a natural powdery white salt substance that leaches out of concrete and brick pavers over time due to subsurface moisture. Standard pressure washing will not remove it permanently. We utilize specialized commercial acidic solutions to safely dissolve and wash away efflorescence before sealing, preventing it from getting trapped under the new protective barrier.
A cloudy or milky white film means your previous sealer has failed. This usually happens when cheap, moisture-trapping retail products are used, or when sealer was applied to a damp surface. To fix this, we must completely chemically strip and extract the old, failed sealer down to the bare stone before applying a premium, breathable Trident coating.
We use a highly effective two-step joint stabilization process. First, we sweep fresh, clean joint sand deep into the gaps. Then, we saturate the surface with a premium Trident joint-stabilizing sealer. As the sealer cures, it penetrates down into the joints and hardens the sand rock-solid. This method provides a deep lock that prevents heavy rain washouts, stops weed growth, and completely seals the stone.
You can safely walk on the treated hardscape 4 to 6 hours after the final sealing application. However, we strictly recommend keeping vehicles and heavy patio furniture off the surfaces for a full 24 to 48 hours to allow the molecular protective shield to completely cure.
Due to intense coastal UV rays, heavy seasonal rains, and high salt-air concentration in the South Carolina region, premium commercial-grade sealants typically last between 3 to 5 years. Driveways and pool decks with heavy traffic generally lean closer to the 3-year mark, while shaded, low-traffic patios can push closer to 5 years.
